Collection: Tsuchiyama

Nestled in the hills of Tsuchiyama in Kōka City, Shiga Prefecture, Tsuchiyama is a traditional tea-growing region known for its nutrient-rich soil, pristine Yasu River water, and abundant sunlight. These natural gifts produce thick, flavourful tea leaves with remarkable sweetness and aroma.
The region is especially famous for its kabusecha cultivation method: shading the tea plants before harvest to enhance umami and reduce bitterness, a technique that has earned numerous awards from Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
